Godspeed Son

 Hello Stampers~

          One of the hardest things for me recently was my son leaving for Boot Camp.  I am SUPER proud of him and also extremely sad at the same time.  My baby boy left home and joined one of the most difficult careers imaginable.  Both my husband and I are Veterans and know how difficult this life is. I am constantly praying for my son. 

          I made this card to send to him.  I had to keep it simple because I know he is going to get flack for even getting this card, so I didn't want it to be over the top.  Simple and to the point.  I used the sentiment "Godspeed" because it is a traditional farewell, similar to "good luck," wishing a person success and prosperity for their new journey or venture. I wish my son all the best but I will miss him dearly.

In the military it's never goodbye, it's until next time!

Espresso By The Pool

 Hello fellow stampers~

          This is my first card in 4 years! Yes you read that correctly, first card in 4 years.  Life has taken over and just caused my hobbies to take a back seat.  I have 2 beautiful grand babies now and all of my 5 children and 2 bonus children have graduated and have either moved out or are in college and boot camp.  I also had an injury back in April that has taken me out of work until the New Year so I have found myself with some extra time on my hands.  I am so happy to finally be back in my craft room and doing what I love!  

         This is my card for the color challenge over at Splitcoast stampers on Tuesday September 11th.  CC1068.  The colors were Crumb Cake, Pool Party and Early Espresso.  Of course I had to make a coffee card with these colors.  I am super happy with how this card turned out.  I hope you enjoy this card as well.  I'd love to know what you think.  Happy Stamping friends!

More HYCCT Challenge Cards

This is going to be short and sweet... I just wanted to update my blog with what I have been doing lately... I have been playing along with the Hope You Can Cling To challenges at splitcoast.  We are halfway through the month and the challenges are great...  Here are the rest of the cards I have done so far.  Can you believe I am actually caught up and done all of the challenges?  Me either but I plan to do them all this year...  :-)  So here they are:

This is the step card that I was teaching at the Santa Clara scrapbook expo.  I thought it was perfect to put together for this "step" challenge..

This is for the Bind It All challenge.  To make our card look bound like a book or binder or such.  I used the top note die and some ribbon for my binding...

This card had to be friend associated.  An image, sentiment, etc.  I chose one of my favorite friend sentiments from Stampin Up's All Holiday set...

Something's Missing... Yup, my heart in the card front.  I punched my main heart and tied the twine through it.  All the other hearts were punched out and placed.  I also place DSP inside my card as well

Use music on your card... Sure no problem when you have this gorgeous music sheet background stamp.  I chose to emboss the background for a more dimensional look...

Quilts are nice and warm and cozy right?  Because that is what I was thinking when I was doing this card...  And these are some of my favorite colors...  :-)

Warm fuzzies.. What isn't warm about sharing a cup of coffee with a friend?  And a coffee that has a coffee cozy on it?  

No stamps? No problem..  I am in love with the inlaid die cute technique... So much fun and such an amazing look when its used...  This card makes me want to make a dozen more....

Crumpled Fall Flowers

So this is my card for today's CAS challenge at Splitcoast.  The challenge is to use crumpled paper... Well I like the look of torn, distressed crumpled so this was a great challenge for me...

I started with a Pumpkin Pie base and layered some Pumpkin Pie DSP that I wet and crumpled. I stamped my image with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with various copic markers.  I added a small amount of glitter to the tops of the acorns, and I love how it looks too.  I added some ribbon, a sentiment and some sequins mostly because I love them...

Count My Blessings

It's been quite some time since I sat down and thought about the colors of fall and I have to say... I'm NOT ready...  I want the summer to last so much longer... For us in Washington State, the fall means 8 months of rain and quite honestly I can do without...  Nonetheless, here is my card for today's Autumn Leaves challenge....

The scallop rows are made with Sparkle N Sprinkle glitters and Super Adhesive Sheets.  I picked 3 fall colors and ran with it...  The leaf colored were inspired by the glitter colors...  Both stamp sets used are also from Sparkle N Sprinkle and I just love these leaves...  I hope you enjoy my card today and I would love to know what you think..

For this card, I started with a simple medium blue cardstock base making my card A2 size.  I used I cut slits in a 5 1/4 X 4 sheet  of Super Adhesive Sheets and removed the individual backing pieces 1 by 1 adding each glitter color individually making the graduated effect from sand to water, to sky and sun....  The rest of the card is really simply put together.  I stamped the lawn (beach) chair and colored it with copic markers, I cut my nestie frame and tied a couple ribbons to the edge and then I attached everything to my glittered background...

My Fun Day

I spent my day working on a couple cards for a tutorial and I wanted to share my end results with everyone... I had so much fun creating these cards and I am so happy with how they turned out... All images, glitters and embossing powders can be purchased from Sparkle N Sprinkle Here is my first card...

This is a Digi image that I altered slightly to add my glittered stars... The original image has snow falling in the background where I punched my stars.. I kept this one simple and just added a pretty ribbon and bow to the top. I used my heat tool to "curl" my ribbon slightly... My next card turned out better than I had expected and I am truly pleased with the final product here.......

I cut out the delicate butterfly with cardstock and then the "shadow" butterfly with Super Adhesive Sheets (also purchasable at Sparkle N Sprinkle). I then adhered the delicate butterfly onto the shadow one and added this GORGEOUS turquoise flock. I don't use flock often because it typically doesn't turn out well for me but this one I think is very elegant and the colors worked great... My final card is my favorite one...

This is truly one of my favorite images right now.. Now only are lilies among my few favorite flowers, but these just look great... If you don't own Copic markers... GO BUY THEM... You are missing out... I know they are difficult to work with at first, but once you finally understand them and get how they work, you will wonder how you lasted so long without them and you will NEVER look back... Birthay Cupcake

This is my card for today's challenge to use our corner rounders... I have had this for years and I can't tell you the last time I used it. Thank you Wendy for giving me a good reason to pull out yet more loved but forgotten items from "storage." I used a Digi image from Sparkle N Sprinkle called Happy Birthday Flower Cupcake.

The best part about Digi images is that you can alter the size any way you want and if you are really knowledgeable in your photo editing program, you can even add colors before you print. I prefer to color my images with copic markers so I just re-size and use. I hope you like what I did today..

Pink Embossed Crocus

I was just messing around in my stamp room and wanted to play around with a new technique. Brenda from Sparkle N Sprinkle posted a tutorial on Glitter Masking.. I wanted to take it a step further and apply the same concept but instead of glitter, I used embossing.

I cut out my adhesive sheet with the Spellbinders die and then I cut out the protective backing sheet with the classic rectangle. I peeled the second protective sheet from my fancy cut die and placed the rectangle backing sheet in the center so only the outer edges would get the embossing powder. I embossed the edges and removed my backing and added my image. The image was colored with Copic Markers and then I added a small amount of glitter to the flowers in white so that they looked like they were coming up out of the snow as the sentiment says. The rest of the card was pretty simple to put together but I think the outcome is just gorgeous...

Haunted Sketch

I had a lot of fun making this card... The image is a digital from Sparkle N Sprinkle and I absolutely love that you can alter the image, remove parts, resize, etc. I made this image exactly as I wanted it for this card..

I colored my image with copic markers and cut out with the spellbinders die. I added some sakura glue to the moon and stars and added just a touch of glitter. I continued to layer my card according to the sketch over at SplitCoast today. I added some crochet thread to look somewhat like a spider web and the flourishes in brown to look like extra tree limbs coming out from behind the card image. My image is popped up onto dimensionals. I hope you like what I did with this sketch. I had fun playing and I love this new image from Sparkle N Sprinkle. Be A Rose

This was done for a new technique, well newly posted technique by Brenda at Sparkle N Sprinkle. This technique can be found in their Techniques and Tutorials section under Stamping On Glitter. I absolutely love this technique. The look it gave this card was so elegant and pretty.

I made the rosette using a scrap sheet of cardstock that measured 1 1/4" X 12. I stamped my rose using Memento Black Tuxedo ink and colored with various copic markers. I "fussy" cut my image and layered on top of my rosette. I used the iRock to add the rhinestones and I used the swirled template. I absolutely love my iRock. Beautiful Glittered Rose

I was just playing around in my stamp room so I thought I would play for a little bit. I had this image sitting on my desk all colored and ready to use, but how to use it? I started with my image and colored with copic markers. I then cut the image out using a spellbinders classic circle die. I then cut out a matching circle of double sided adhesive sheet.

I stuck the adhesive sheet to my flower, removed the backing from the adhesive sheet and then added glitter on top of my image. I made my rosette using a strip of DSP 1 1/2" by 12 and scored every 1/4" using alternating valley and mountain folds. I then assembled my card with a few layers and my rosette on top with my gorgeous glittered image...

This was probably one of the first 10 stamp sets I purchased and I still love it to this day... There are so many ways to use this one... I changed the background color, the stamp set, the border punch and a few minor other details... My main image was colored with copic markers. What did we ever do without copics?

Blue Ribbon Inspiration

This is my card for today's inspiration challenge... I picked this piece as my inspiration: http://www.oliveandcocoa.com/popupim..._587_popup.jpg. I loved the colors... I love anything with a monochromatic look to it... I stamped my main image with ranger distress black soot and colored with copic markers. I then added some glue and glitter to a small part of the image and let dry. I cut out my main panels with the new Stampin up framelits dies and pierced them with the matching template. I embossed the right side of my background and layered the left side with DSP. I put my main image on the die cut panels and adhered to the background. I added a pretty satin ribbon to finish it off.. I love the blues in this card... I would love to know what you think... Happy Stamping!!!

Pink Ribbon Inspiration

Here is another card for today's inspiration challenge.. I had this image sitting out so why not make use of it again right?

This was another simple card but I think the ribbon really looks cool here.. I cut my main panel A2 size and then stepped down the white panel and embossed it. I also sprayed the embossed panel with bubble gum shimmer spritz. It looks so much better IRL. I colored my main panel with copic markers and punch slits on both sides for my ribbon. I wrapped the ribbon around back and adhered it. I added pearls to the flower centers as well as my butterfly body. I added a simple sentiment and punched out with the small oval punch from Stampin Up... Please let me know what you think.. Happy Stamping!!!

Riley Birthday

So I needed a cutesie kids birthday card and today's challenge over at splitcoast was to make a birthday card... I am feeling a little under the weather today so

I know this isn't by best work by any means, but I wanted to stamp a little bit anyway... So this is a pretty simple card... I colored a few different images yesterday with my copic markers and this cute little Balloon Riley was one of them... I cute him out with the rectangle spellbinders die and mounted him onto a scallop rectangle. I then cut my layers to size and ran the white through the big shot with the birthday embossing folder. I added a few stickles to some areas for detail and layered my card.. I added a sentiment and ribbon to the main images... Really simple... please let me know what you think. Pink Rose

This is my card for today's sketch challenge... Number 400... WOW!!! Who would have thought there would be so many ways to put a card together... :) I chose to go back to SC224 for this one... I started out by coloring my image and then I added some detail with dazzling diamonds glitter. I cut out image and layered on the spellbinders rectangle die... I made my hat pins and attached them to my ribbon. I stamped my sentiment, cut it out with the modern label punch and added some dazzling diamonds to the word "heart". This was a pretty simple card to put together.. I am not sure how I really feel about it. I hope you will enjoy it. Happy Stamping!!!
